Roof Restoration Perth: Our Guide to Perth’s Best Beaches
If there is one thing that Perth unquestionably has, its world class beaches. In fact, after doing a ton of travelling ourselves, we can quite comfortably say we are the yardstick to which other beaches can even be called world class. While this list is not comprehensive and potentially biased based on individual tastes, we have tried to do our absolute best job of painting the right picture of our beach scene here in Perth. So without further ado we bring to you, our top picks.
“The Spot”
Perhaps the Perth Metropolitan Area’s best surf break, this beach is accessed via a sand road, safe for many cars to go down, no four wheel drive required. The best waves, if you are a surfer, the best waves can be found in the winter months, with waves regularly head high and the rides fairly long but all year (rare in Perth) there is some kind of wave.

Sort of a local spot (be respectful and you will have no worries) so I won’t give the exact location, but I can say it is between Yanchep and Two Rocks, off Two Rocks Road.
Yanchep Lagoon
A popular beach for snorkelling and swimming due to well, being a lagoon of course. The reef keeps the water much calmer close to the sand when the wind comes, compared with other beaches, making it a great choice almost year round.

A decent drive to perhaps the last good beach in the Perth Metropolitan Area, but well worth it.
Mullaloo Point
In our humble opinion the nicest beach in all of Perth and I will tell you why. Apart from having decent parking, adequate facilities and a fantastic lookout, only a short walk up the hill, this is perhaps the best beach for getting space to yourself to do whatever takes your fancy – swim, surf, explore, read, run or place beach cricket – all the while sitting on a pristine white sandy beach in front of beautiful blue water.

As well as being a perfect beach, there is also a surf club, park and the local favourite – Mullaloo Beach Hotel – where you can stay, eat, drink and party (especially on Sundays) at the main beach.
Mettams Pool
Because of the reef, maybe not the best beach of the list for swimming, but definitely the most idyllic and great for snorkelling too. As it is kind of a small beach, make sure you get in early to have a great spot for the beach tent on a hot summer’s day, it can get busy. Once upon a time, not even accessible to beachgoers, this has become a Perth favourite and one that is daily on Instagram feeds.

Close to North Beach shops and popular spots such as Toms Italian, and Yelo Cafe.
Trigg Beach
Known by Perth surfers as the go to spot, this beach is also a favourite with swimmers, runners and tourists alike. While not as good of a wave as “the spot” near two rocks, definitely the most popular and on it’s day an exceptional wave nonetheless. Right in front of the car park there is also Canteen, Trigg’s best located cafe with great vibes and which is popular basically every day.

One of the more finer areas in Perth, with decadent architecture and stunning walking paths.
Scarborough Beach
Perth’s answer in some ways to Bondi Beach, with a large 5 star hotel overlooking the water, with surf shops, cafes, bars and restaurants all up and down the esplanade. Newly redeveloped (restoration in with the addition of a skate park, big swimming pool and more restaurants, this is definitely Perth’s most happening beach front destination. Busy every day and night, especially during a Sunday session, the stretch of beach, is up there with Mullaloo, just with better surf.

Scarborough has it all, for your next staycation or day out at the beach.
Cottesloe Beach
Rivalling Scarborough for the most visited beach in Perth, Cottesloe Beach is surely the most iconic, at least in Photographs. With a lovely stretch of sand and a rock wall, keeping the beach protected against hailing southern winds, you could easily be happy for an entire day here. Add to the mix, pubs, bars, cafes, restaurants, fish and chips and a golf course and you can see why the residents pay a fair chunk of change to live in Cottesloe.

With everything you need at your fingertips, you can sit back relax and soak up the scenery and art scene – when they run sculptures by the sea.
